Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and add sour cream and knead it into a dough. Divide it into two parts and roll out each part to a quarter-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits and place them onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in a hot oven which is preheated at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes. This recipe makes 12-18 biscuits. Serve with creamy, handmade butter.
Sour Cream Tart
Ingredients: 1 3/4 cups of flour (or soft wheat), 1/2 cup cornmeal, 2 teaspoons sugar, 8 tablespoons shortening or lard or mixture of them, 5 tablespoons sour cream and 1 tablespoon vinegar and a pinch of salt.
Stir together the dry ingredients in a bowl and add sour cream and vinegar to make a dough for this crust. Mix only until the dough holds together – don’t overmix it! Roll out to quarter-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface and use a cookie cutter to cut out the tart edges. In a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange small dough pieces inside as a border and place them in the preheated oven at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.
For the filling, mix together 1 3/4 cups of sour cream, 2 eggs well beaten, 1 tablespoon vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar. Pour it into the baked crust after it has cooled down.
Sour Cream Raisin Pie
Ingredients: 1 pie shell (you can make sour cream pastry), 1 cup raisins that have been soaked overnight in water, 1 egg yolk beaten with 8 tablespoons of sour cream until smooth, 4 tablespoons melted butter and a pinch of salt.
Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl and add sour cream, egg yolk and butter to make the filling for this pie. Pour it into the pie shell and place it in a 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven for about 10 minutes.
The pie can be served cold or hot with a glass of milk on the side!
Sour Cream Apple Cake
Ingredients: 1 cup sugar, 8 tablespoons softened butter or margarine, 2 eggs well beaten, 1 cup sour cream, 2 cups of flour (or soft wheat), 1 teaspoon baking soda, 4 large apples peeled and sliced thin and a pinch of salt.
Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl. Add sour cream and eggs to it then add melted butter or margarine lastly. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and pour this batter into it. Arrange apple slices on top of the cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until the toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.

Ingredients: 2 cups flour (or soft wheat), 1 cup butter or margarine softened, 2/3 cup sugar, 1 egg well beaten, 4 teaspoons vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl and add sour cream, butter or margarine and egg lastly Drop spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.
